When you request the guide, we ask for your email address first, then your parent or guardian name and phone number. Selecting Continue on the email step requests the guide by email; when delivery is connected, an unfinished request may receive the requested guide after five minutes of inactivity. The later acknowledgment is separate from optional permission for text messages. Optional follow-up questions ask about priorities, children’s programs, desired hours, start timing, ZIP code and questions for the school. Please do not include health records, religious affiliation or other sensitive information in these inquiry fields. This website is intended for parents and guardians; we do not knowingly solicit information directly from children under 13.

We use the information you provide to supply requested materials, answer questions, prepare for calls and visits, and manage admissions. Optional questionnaire answers are kept with the guide request separately from verified student records and staff notes. Skipping these questions does not prevent guide access. People make enrollment decisions; this website does not automatically decide eligibility or admission.

When you provide your number and request a response, school staff may call about that inquiry. Any later recording or AI transcription must be disclosed before recording begins, with consent obtained as required by applicable law. Families must have a way to continue without recording. A general website acknowledgment is not treated as permission for prerecorded or artificial-voice marketing calls.

If you separately choose text messages, Shining Light Christian School may send automated admissions follow-up, Family Guide updates, appointment reminders and enrollment updates within that permission. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help, or contact admissions@shininglightschool.org or (571) 752-6994. Texting consent is optional and is not a condition of receiving the guide, enrollment or purchase. See /terms#sms for the messaging terms. We record the choice, date, page, wording and wording version and must honor later opt-outs before sending.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell, rent or share mobile numbers, text messages or text-message opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing. Service providers may process this information only to deliver and support the communications requested on our behalf.

The school currently uses Brightwheel for application, document and billing processes. Inquiry questions are not a request to upload medical records or identity documents. If secure enrollment uploads are connected to this website, the school must identify the required documents, authorized reviewers and retention period before use. Children’s records, volunteered comments and questionnaire answers are not provided to advertising platforms.

When you visit the website and send us a form or book a time, we record how you found us and some technical details, so we understand which outreach reaches families and can serve you better. This includes the campaign details in the link you followed (such as utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign, and advertising click or ad identifiers), the page you first arrived on, the website that referred you, the number of pages you viewed, your device type, operating system and browser, your screen size, language and time zone, your IP address, and an approximate location (city, region and postal code) derived from that IP address. We do not collect your precise location. Your browser keeps the first campaign you arrived from in local storage and your most recent one for the current visit, so later visits do not overwrite how you first found us. This information is stored with your inquiry in the school’s admissions records. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, or you opt out on the Privacy choices page, we still keep this record for the school’s own use, but we do not share it or advertising click identifiers with advertising platforms. Questionnaire access uses a limited submission token, never a token in a URL; it does not sign anyone into the family portal.

The school advertises on Facebook and Instagram (Meta) and on Google, and measures which advertising leads families to request the guide, send a message or book a call or visit. This website uses Google Tag Manager to load the Meta Pixel and Google’s advertising and analytics tags, which use cookies and similar technology to record visits and these actions. When you request the guide, send a message or book a time, the school’s server also tells Meta that the action happened, using the Meta Conversions API, together with your email address, phone number, name and the approximate location described above, each converted into a one-way code (hashed) before it is sent, plus your IP address and browser details. Meta uses this to match the action to an ad you saw and to find similar families; it is targeted advertising under Virginia law. We also use PostHog to understand how families use the site, including recordings of page activity with every form field hidden. Questionnaire answers, children’s details and messages are never sent to Meta, Google or PostHog, and none of these tools run on sign-in pages, the family portal or the school’s staff pages. To opt out, use the button on the Privacy choices page or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser; either one stops these tools in that browser and stops the school’s server from sending your actions to Meta.

The school’s service team may use tools to assist with drafting and organizing work. Any future recording, transcription or assistant must be described before it is introduced. Enrollment decisions remain with people.

Vercel hosts this website and stores uploaded family documents privately. Turso hosts the school’s admissions database. Resend sends the emails you request, such as the Family Guide and sign-in codes. Cal.com schedules calls and visits. Google (Tag Manager, Google Ads and Google Analytics), Meta Platforms and PostHog provide the advertising and analytics described above. Slack is used internally by the school’s admissions team and its marketing agency, Six Minutes Late, to be notified of new inquiries; those notices include a family’s name, how they found us and their approximate city, but not their email address or phone number. Twilio will provide consented text messaging once approved. Brightwheel remains the school’s enrollment and billing system. Providers receive only the information needed for their work on the school’s behalf.

We do not sell personal information or share mobile information or texting consent with third parties for their own marketing. We do not infer a family’s religious beliefs from interest in this school or use children’s details for advertising.

Contact admissions@shininglightschool.org to request access, correction or deletion, obtain a copy of information, withdraw texting permission or raise a privacy concern. If the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act applies to the school and your request, its rights include access, correction, deletion, portability and opting out of targeted advertising, sale and certain significant profiling. You can opt out of targeted advertising at any time on the Privacy choices page (/privacy-choices). We will respond within 45 days, subject to a permitted extension with notice. You may appeal a refusal by emailing the same address with “Privacy appeal” in the subject; applicable appeals are answered within 60 days. If an appeal is denied, we provide a way to contact the Virginia Attorney General. We will verify requests proportionately and will not discriminate for exercising applicable rights.

We limit access to information and use encrypted connections. Inquiry information should be retained only while needed to serve the family, honor communication preferences and satisfy applicable recordkeeping requirements, then deleted or anonymized. Consent and opt-out records may need to be retained to honor and demonstrate preferences. Clear this site’s browser data to remove locally stored examples. No system can guarantee complete security.
